Description

A rare guitare built in the late 1930s by Siro Burgassi, one of the lesser-known figures of French-Italian origin luthiers based in France.

At the start of his career, Burgassi worked for Bortolo Busato's instrument manufacture, namely building banjo necks. As a matter of fact, many other gypsy-jazz guitar luthiers started off working for Busato, among which Favino.

After his stint at Busato, Burgassi set up his own guitar-making business alongside Gino Papiri. Together, they build "SG" guitars, standing for "Siro and Gino" - Django is known to have played at least one of their guitars around 1933-1934. This guitar was built for and bears the label of Parisian instrument retailers Paul Beuscher, a well-established shop which still stands today at its original 1850 location in the 4th arrondissement of the French capital.

Great restored condition, complete professional setup done at our workshop, ready to play. Comes in a soft case.
