2009 Martin D7 Roger McGuinn Sig. Natural
As I was recently going through a collection of Gibson and Martin acoustics, I would pick up a random case to see what lay inside, hoping to be pleasantly surprised. As this D7 appeared, I smiled because I already knew what it sounded and played like. Simply put, after cleaning and restringing this beautiful guitar, I was not disappointed in either category.
The voice of this guitar is nothing less than incredible and the result Martin was trying to achieve with the addition of the 7th string works brilliantly. I threw on a new set of Martin Phosphor Bronze and the sound that came out of this guitar was seriously impressive. It's as simple as that; This is one wonderful sounding and playing guitar.
As to condition, it's a very clean guitar that shows virtually zero signs of playwear. This is the second D7 we have acquired with a bit of hazing on the face and we are diligently working to clear this up. It's a very small spot and hardly noticeable, but you can see it if you turn the guitar into the reflection of an overhead light. There are also a couple of very fine surface scratches on the back, but these too are super slight and hard to see. The case is also in excellent condition and has been detailed both inside and out.
