Description

Offered is this superb 000 built in the Martin Custom Shop in 2005. This has got to be one of the best Martin Adirondack spruce/rosewood 12-fret that you will find at this kind of price anywhere on the planet right now.

The Martin Custom Shop used the specs of their relatively affordable 000-15S as the basis for this instrument. To this they added: an Adirondack spruce top; solid East Indian rosewood for the back and sides; a bone nut and saddle; black ebony for the fingerboard and bridge; bone for the nut and saddle; Waverly side-mount tuners and a gloss lacquer finish. It has a 12-fret mahogany neck with an adjustable truss rod and Martin's Modified Low Oval carve. It has a 25-3/4" string scale, 1-3/4" nut width and 2-1/4" string spacing.

Specs like this are typically found on far more expensive Martin acoustics. What's more, this guitar plays and sounds like a much more expensive instrument. Please check out the brief sound sample included below. This guitar sounds like a Martin guitar should with a warm and woody voice! It plays superbly too and is setup with 12th fret string heights of 7/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side and a new set of Elixir lights.

This instrument has been lovingly played by its original owner for nearly two decades. It shows some minor boo-boos here and there as shown in my close-up photos, but nothing serious that affects the playability or tone. The frets are still in great condition (photos included). It comes in its original Martin case.

Try to replicate this guitar, new or used, you will quickly find that you will have to spend far more for anything that comes close to this fine instrument. Make this sweet Martin acoustic yours before someone else beats you to it!
