Description

A beautiful example in excellent original condition, including the original coffin case. Back & sides are Brazilian rosewood of course, that's the only wood they used then, top is Adirondack spruce, with a lovely French polish finish.

We've done a full set-up: neck reset, new exact replacement frets, low action, plays great with extra-light gauge steel strings, tuners have been changed by the last owner to Waverlies with ebony buttons (they were originally ivory friction pegs). The tone is amazing, with a big full bass and dynamic treble. By the way, these early Martins, though originally made for gut strings, are much more successful as steel-strung guitars. Though their construction was extremely light by todays standards, they are generally super strong, due to the small size top, the fine quality spruce and a pile of gross misconceptions being promulgated these days.

The photos are from a few years ago and will be updated soon.

Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader. Phone-in charges are charged at a much higher rate (to the seller) which can take quite a big chunk out of a high-dollar sale. Thus, for those call-in sales, let's discuss the issue at the time; hopefully, we can figure some way to deal with it.
