King No.1002 Satin Gold-plated Soprano Saxophone
KING vintage soprano saxophone from the H.N. White era in miraculously beautiful condition (complete overhaul and adjustment).
[Overview]
King Soprano Saxophone "1002". Body: Satin gold plated. Key and bell inner: luster plated. Manufactured in the early 1920s. Accessories: Vintage hard case (exterior damaged).
[Condition.]
The gold plating is slightly faded overall, but has retained at least 95%.There is only scattered flaking of the plating on some of the thumb hooks and some of the key cups. There is no dent repair or accident history. The screw-mounted lyre is not included (the base is left in place). Overhauled and adjusted by disassembling and cleaning all keys and tubes, replacing all tampos(*), corks, and felts.
*CHANU plastic resonator pads are installed.

This is a soprano saxophone from the pioneering period when King began to manufacture saxophones in earnest. The straight, rustic sound with little sustain is truly full of the charm of the good old days. The condition is miraculous considering that it is nearly a hundred years old. It has been overhauled, so you can use it comfortably.
