Offered for sale:

Vintage c1982 Ibanez PT9 Phaser effects pedal serial number 256621.

This pedal is in very good condition, fully functional. Cosmetically shows playing wear.

The orange Ibanez PT9 was a core model in the ‘9’ series pedals, comprising 16 different effects. The PT9 shares many standardized characteristics with its peers. The solid and compact PT9, made in Japan by partner company Maxon, replaced the outgoing blue ‘0’ series’ PT‑909 Phase Tone in 1982 and was in production through 1984 before being superseded. One wonders if Ibanez changed the color from the blue of the PT‑909 to orange of the PT9 to compete with the industry‑leading MXR phasers. By the early‑mid 1980s, phaser pedals were becoming de facto, with manufacturers seemingly obliged to include a model in their line ups with little to differentiate between them.

The PT9 uses a 4‑stage analogue modulation circuit to give it a remarkably smooth phase sound. In keeping with its predecessor, it uses three control knobs to adjust the effect. For whatever reason, the reputation of the PT9 never reached the heights of the MXR (Phase 45, 90 & 100) and Electro‑Harmonix phasers (Small Stone and Bad Stone), so they are still relatively ubiquitous and affordable on the vintage effect market.

Power supply not included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.
