1977 Humming Bird W-400 "Natural"

These Martin Dreadnought replicas were built by Tokai in the 70's, supposedly as part of a supply agreement with Martin. In the late 70's, Tokai rebranded these guitars as "Cat's Eyes" and continued production on-and-off to present day. This particular guitar has the Cat's Eyes model number CE-400 printed on the heel, but retains the higher-end Humming Bird logo and appointments of the W-400, with a solid spruce top, Indian rosewood sides, and mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. Despite its confusing history, this acoustic punches way above its price point, holding its own against other Martins we've had in the shop.
