1968 Guild F-112 Natural Historically Significant The Last One Made in Hoboken for 1968

How very cool to have the very last F-112 made during 1968 in Hoboken NJ in my store. The serial # is OA-511. The instrument was traded by the original owners son in an old chip board case. The instrument was just humidified over the weekend to get a true assessment of work needed. The action at the 12th fret is 4 mm Bass Side and 3 mm Treble side, however there isn't room left in the saddle. The dual truss rod neck is straight and true with very little tension on the neck. The neck is a nice sized chunk of old growth Mahogany. The fret wire shows wear only on the first 3 frets, which can be crowned out if desired. The fret board has a few areas where the grain has expanded, but I'm certain with the proper humidity those will not present a problem. The top has one crack that looks like it was repaired year ago. There isn't a belly bulge, but in front for the bridge the top gets a lil wonky. Keep in mind this piece of New Jersey and American Guitar making history is 56 years new.

My first thought was to keep this for myself and do the neck reset, but I like most shop owners that are passionate about the instrument have way to many projects. The instrument once restored can be worth as much as $2000.00 based upon recent sales, so at $900.00 someone with time and skills should grab this. If you lack the skills necessary to do a neck reset my shop can do the neck reset and a hand cut bone saddle with setup for its next owner. If your a hunter you just found treasure!
