Gretsch Custom Shop 2016 MBS G6134TCS ’55 Penguin FMT by Stephen Stern
The "1963 ES-335 VOS" model from the Historic Series with hide gluing and long studs.
It carries over the 1963 specs, including small block position markers, a short pickguard with a 45° edge angle cutout, stop tailpiece, slightly pointed cutaway, nylon saddle and double ring tuning buttons.
The specs are carefully designed with Adirondack spruce bracing and a tubeless historic truss rod, and at 3.44kg it is light for an ES-335 model.
The neck has a slim grip with reduced thickness typical of 60s models and is equipped with MHS Un-potted Humbuckers Alnico III & Alnico II pickups.
There is no noticeable damage, although there is rust on metal parts, pockmarks and scratches all over the body, a buckle slash on the body back and a scratch scratch with a shallow paint dent on the back of the nut.
The frets are very lightly worn, mainly on the plain strings, but overall there is about 90% remaining, and the neck and truss rod are in good condition with no problems.
