1978 Greco EG600 "Peter Frampton"

The “Peter Frampton”, called the EG600P in Greco’s 1978 catalog (screenshot included). Set-neck solidbody Fujigen-made “lawsuit” Les Paul Custom copy to mimic Peter Frampton’s famous heavily-modified “Phenix” 1954/1955 Les Paul Custom (albeit with a laminate sycamore body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard), which was lost in a plane crash only a couple of years later (and amazingly, recovered in 2011.) This one is pretty clean, and decent weight for a “Custom” at 9.1 pounds. At least two of the three pickups appear to have been changed, but other than the aftermarket gig bag, the guitar looks to be largely original. Plays great, sounds great, truss rod and electronics are good to go. Very cool, very functional, and kinda historic. Made in Japan.
