Looking for a very special instrument to stimulate your creativity and your playing experience? If so, you have got to give this incredible Gil Yaron Thinline Tele a careful going over.
Built in 2023 to a customer’s specification, this featherweight Tele-style instrument weighs just 5 pounds, 1 ounce. It has a semi-hollow body with no “F” holes and made of reclaimed mahogany. The body is topped with reclaimed flame maple with cream binding. It has a reclaimed mahogany neck with a nice chunky soft .88” V-shape carve. The 10” radius fingerboard is made of optional Brazilian Rosewood with a 1.6875” nut and medium/tall frets. It has a set of Gil’s Broadcaster pickups with premium cloth wiring. It has Gotoh-sourced vintage style hardware, including the bridge with compensated steel saddles, the control plate and the tuners. The guitar is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer. It comes in a SKB molded hardshell case which he ships all his custom builds in.
I don’t think I have ever played an electric guitar with more acoustic resonance than this guitar. No amp is needed for practice, but plug it in and it’s pure Tele, with a touch of 335 warmth to my ear. Please check out the brief sound sample below and perhaps you will agree. As a Gil Yaron hand-built creation, of course it plays like butter. At 5 pounds, 1 ounce and nicely balanced, this is a guitar that you can play all night without fatigue.
This guitar comes to you in near-mint condition with no flaws of any significance. The frets show no observable wear.
Gil would charge around $10K to duplicate this guitar for you with its $8,450 base price plus the various upgrades on this guitar. Get this near mint example and save a couple grand and the long wait. This is one special Tele. Make it yours!
