Here's a 1946 Gibson Southern Jumbo (SJ) in Tobacco Sunburst finish. 1st year example! Really special piece here. One strum the hair on your arms will stand! The guitar has 1946 features, that include early style gold script Gibson logo, and an unbound fingerboard with pearloid double parallelogram inlays. It also features a mahogany body, and mahogany neck, with a two piece book matched sitka spruce top. As you an see in the pictures, there's a repaired crack on the back. This has been professionally repaired and is completely stable. The rest of the guitar is crack and repair free. The guitar plays great, with a big, full neck profile. Tonally it's just incredible. Very big/full and open. Beautiful note separation as well. It perfectly captures the very best of the classic SJ/J-45 sound. The stamp on the back of the headstock is "CULL", which indicates it was a factory second. And as usual, there was probably a small imperfection somewhere for them to do that. Makes the guitar even more unique! Rare bird here. HSC....
