1942 Gibson L-5 in excellent condition. Carved spruce top, flame maple back, sides, and neck, ebony fingerboard with pearl block inlays, Brazilian rosewood bridge, replacement gold plated Grover Imperial tuners, and a sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish. This was Roy Smecks personal guitar and has appointments showing the custom nature of the instrument including the abalone vine motif on the peghead, and the hand engraved tailpiece bearing Roy Smecks name. Other than the replaced tuners this instrument is all original and has no history of major repairs. Evidence points to a pickup being previously installed on the guitar which is not present now. Neck is 1 3/4" wide at the nut, depth is 0.91" at the 1st fret, 1.02" at the 10th fret. Weight is 6.26lbs. Comes with the original hardshell case.
