1994 Gibson Limited Edition Harley Davidson 90th Anniversary J-185

This 1994 Gibson Limited Edition Harley Davidson 90th Anniversary J-185 is in excellent condition. This instrument shows some slight signs of play wear throughout. There are some faint pick scratches on the pickguard and body and the silver Harley Davidson logo on the pickguard is faded a bit. There is one small ding on the top, but overall this guitar extremely tidy. This Gibson is free of any cracks or crack repairs. The top is very flat, the bridge is flat to the body, it has a medium saddle height, the truss rod is fully functional and the neck angle is optimal. This instrument features solid maple back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top and a three piece maple neck. This guitar is adorned with mother of pearl Harley Davidson appointments. The neck profile on this instrument is that of a medium rounded profile with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck feels very good in the hand, is very easy to play and will feel right at home for anyone that is familiar with Gibson guitars from this period. The original frets on this guitar are in fantastic condition, have tons of life left and are free of any dents or divots. This Gibson flat top has received a set up here in our shop and it plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low smooth action and great intonation. This guitar sounds excellent and delivers classic dry, thumpy Gibson tones with plenty of volume while retaining a very “lively” sound with great mid-range articulation thanks to the maple back and sides. These instruments were a limited production run and a total of 1500 of these were ever built - this example is #590. This rare Gibson guitar includes all of its original paperwork, its original COA and its original Gibson/Harley Davidson leather strap.
