This 1956 Gibson GA-6 is in very good cosmetic condition and is in excellent working order. This amplifier shows signs of play wear and age throughout including some small snags and tears on the corners of the mottled grey cloth covering and some small scratches and tarnishing on the brown control plate. The original leather handle is broken, but could be replaced if desired, and the Gibson GA-6 logo that should be located on the front panel of the amp is missing in action. Otherwise, this 68 year old amplifier is pretty tidy and nice. This amp is all original throughout including all potentiometers and transformers as well as the Jensen Alnico Speaker that dates to the 32nd week of 1956. This 15 watt GA-6 was recently serviced at Hime Amplification in Nashville, Tennessee. It is running strong and sounds stellar! A three prong power cable was installed for safe operation and a few leaky capacitors were replaced (the original power cable and capacitors are included). This is a GREAT sounding example that has enough headroom for excellent jazz tones, slightly broken up focused blues/roots sounds and when pushed will saturate into vintage overdriven bliss! This amp runs on two 6v6GT, one 5Y3, one 12AZ7 and one 6SL7. If you are looking for a fantastic grab and go combo amp for small gigs or a killer studio amp, this GA-6 will fit the bill! This amplifier will ship out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Tennessee to your front door!
