This Gibson F-5 Mandolin has been the pinnacle of the industry since its inception back in the 1920’s. Here we have a fantastic opportunity to get a 55 year old example that looks like its 2 years old. Its unusual Cherry Sunburst finish is only slightly faded over its deep dished carved Spruce top. Its insanely flamey carved maple back & sides match its flamey maple neck. Its 6-digit serial # is hard to read but certainly intact under its black stinger. Its scroll shaped headstock is lovely & has Gibson’s pearl logo & torch inlays. Its bound block inlaid ebony fingerboard has perfect original frets. Its 4-in-line double line gold Kluson Deluxe tuners work perfectly & its still sporting its slide-on gold tailpiece cover. Lastly its black multi laminated pickgard pulls it all together. Considering its near mint overall condition, this Mando has outstanding tone qualities w/both treble & bass response as it should. Its one of the finest ever produced & comes w/its original bill of sale/payment contract from Simmons Music Co. in Denver Colorado made out to Samual D. Holden & paid off in full on December 2nd, 1968. It includes a matching near mint square shaped black/yellow lined hard case.
