より汎用性の高いロングスケールのEB-3L！
Gibsonの伝統的なSGシェイプのダブルカッタウェイボディに、ショートスケールが特徴的なEB-3。
1961年の登場から1979年の生産終了まで幾度かの仕様変更が行われています。
30インチのショートスケールだったEB-3に対して、本機EB-3Lは34インチのロングスケールとなっています。
EB-3Lは1969年から1972年のわずかな期間にのみ製造されたモデルで、本機はマホガニーボディ、メイプルネック、そしてフロントピックアップがブリッジ寄りに搭載された時期のものになります。
コントロールは2ボリューム/2トーンに加え、バリトーンスイッチと呼ばれる４ポジションのロータリーセレクターを搭載。
1.フロントPUブーミー・トーン/2.リアPU/3.ミックス/4.フロントPUノーマル・トーンとなっています。
通常のEB-3とは違いロングスケールになることによって、弦のテンションが強くなり、より輪郭とピッチのはっきりとしたサウンドになっています。
またこれまでネックエンドに接していたフロントピックアップがブリッジ寄りに移動したことによって、低音のブーミーさが軽減され、サウンド全体がスッキリとした傾向です。
EB-3の独特なブーミーサウンドを求める方はショートスケールの方が合っているかもしれませんが、「ロングスケールの弦テンションが良い」「パワフルな低音は欲しいけど、もう少し音程感のはっきりとしたサウンドが良い」という方にはこのEB-3Lは非常にオススメです！
