I love Les Paul Standards but strive to get the lightest examples available – the lighter the better. Offered here is a virtually new 2024 Chambered '59 Les Paul VOS Reissue. The light weight of these chambered LP's is a godsend for an old fart like me and I really like the woody resonant tone they offer. I read somewhere that ZZ Top front man Billy Gibbons used heavily chambered Pearly Gates LPs on stage, so the tone characteristics of these chambered models obviously appeals to some players.
This gorgeous guitar weighs just 6.8 pounds. The finish is Golden Poppy Burst. The neck measures .905” deep at the first fret and .995" at the twelfth. This is a VOS model and as such has been given light factory aging consisting of a very light finish patina along with some oxidation of the hardware. The top on this one has nice figuring and is book-matched nicely.
The specs on this guitar include the use of hot hide glue to fit the long neck tenon and the maple top, historically accurate aniline dyes and single ply Royalite binding material, no surround on the truss rod, etc. Every component is designed to make this guitar as authentic a reissue as possible. This guitar also features Gibson’s great sounding ‘Custom Bucker’ pickups and the resulting tone is killer - fat and woody with lots of that unique LP attack. Please check out the brief sound sample included below.
This 2024 model year instrument has seen only light test play and comes to you in essentially new condition with no flaws beyond the very light factory VOS aging. The frets are flawless. It comes in the similarly nice Lifton style brown case along with the certificate of authenticity and hang tags and it comes in the original Gibson shipping box.
If you want a superb, ‘as new’ LP reissue and you want it LIGHT, this guitar is for you! A real sweetheart of an LP. Make it yours.
