The Class A discrete design allows for a clean boost of up to +20dB without changing the sound quality. In addition, harmonics are added at the same time as the volume is increased, making the sound image stand out. This is a very early model with the well-known sound of Gray Hammer chassis, black letters, ivory knobs, and serial #085.
