1960 Framus 5/59 Sorella Archtop Black Rose

This 1960 Framus Sorella archtop guitar is in excellent condition. This instrument shows some signs of play wear and age throughout including some minor finish checking and a few small dings (see photos), but is all original and is in overall in excellent very tidy cosmetic condition. The original pickguard is missing in action. This German made archtop has a very comfortable medium “C” shaped neck profile that feels great in the hand and is very easy and fun to play. The fret wire is in great condition, has been polished and is free of any dents or divots. This guitar has been properly set up with .12 gauge strings and it plays like a dream up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low to medium action and good intonation. This guitar is a fantastic player! This archtop has a very articulate and loud barking tone that is perfectly suited for chunking closed chord rhythms and also “jumps” with single note playing! This would make a fantastic gypsy jazz instrument or excellent all around acoustic archtop for any player. Framus instruments “Built in the Heart of Bavaria” are very interesting and very well made but unfortunately a lot of these are in unplayable condition these days - that is not the case with this example. This one is ready to go! This guitar is housed in a cool old brown faux leather gig bag and will ship out promptly and securely from our little shop here in Tennessee to your front door!
