Description
Summary: The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960 as a higher-end alternative to the Precision Bass with closer string spacing, a thinner neck profile at the nut, and two punchy single-coil pickups. The Jazz Bass has a bright sound, making it ideal for slap playing as well as finger-style players. The ability to blend the volume of both pickups allows for a wide variety of tones. This Jazz bass is from the early ‘80s has a 3-bolt neck construction. It has vintage style Fender open gear tuning keys and the bullet style truss rod.

Body: Jazz bass shape finished in Black.

Neck: Maple with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 34” scale length, 1.5” nut width, 20 frets, pearl block inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two single coil pickups, Fender open gear tuning machines, bullet style truss rod, 3-bolt construction, volume/tone controls, 3-ply white pickguard, original pickup covers.

Cosmetics: This bass is in good shape. It was in the case for an extended period and the fuzz from the case has bonded to the finish in some areas (See Photos Please). There are light surface scratches a few very small dings on the body. The headstock has small amount of wear on the edges. The hardware has tarnished a bit. The back of the neck is clean and smooth, and the frets are in great shape.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 9.545 lbs.

Case: This bass ships in the original hard-shell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
