Excellent condition featuring 20 watts of power, one 12” speaker, two 6V6 power tubes, one GZ34 rectifier tube, 12AX7 and 12AT7 preamp tubes, black control face plate with white text, Deluxe-Amp logo in the right hand corner along with Fender Elect. Inst. Co., two channels (Normal and Vibrato), four instrument inputs, black plastic skirted Fender amp knobs with reflective tops, red jewel light, black metal rear panel plate with white text, ground switch, On/Standby switches, tremolo pedal input, Speaker and Ext. Speaker inputs, A-02831 impressed into the back of the chassis, white paper tube chart, three prong power cable, black rubberized carrying handle, original Fender grill cloth and black Tolex outer covering.

This 1965 Fender Deluxe Amp is in excellent vintage cosmetic condition. This amp shows some signs of play wear and use throughout including some very small nicks in the Tolex around the edges, some tarnishing of the metal chassis straps and the letters “PM” stenciled on the side in white (see photos). The speaker cable is a replacement. In other respects, this amp is exceptionally tidy and seems to have been played but very well taken care of. This amp is in perfect operating order and was professionally and expertly serviced at Hime Amplification in Nashville, Tennessee. The service included replacing the electrolytic capacitors, adjusting the bias, installing new tubes, cleaning, inspection and a new three prong power cable was installed for safe operation. This amp runs like a top and is ready for years of faithful service. All three transformers are original - they date to the 7th and 5th week of 1965 and another to the 47th week of 1964. There are visible potentiometer codes that read 1376451 indicating that these components date to the 51st week of 1964. The interior tube chart is mislabeled as a “Deluxe Reverb” and bears the code OC indicating that this component was made in March of 1965. I have run across several vintage Fender amps with the wrong tube charts, primarily, in my case vintage Princeton Reverb amps. The speaker in this amp is original and has a date code that dates it to the 13th week of 1965. This Deluxe Amp sounds phenomenal. It has a bit more headroom than a Deluxe Reverb and at when dialing the volume up it will break up into a very smooth saturated overdrive that is quite pleasing. This amp would make a tremendous studio companion and it excels as a pedal platform. If you are looking for a righteous, vintage grab and go combo amp, don’t sleep on this Deluxe.
