Fender Custom Shop 2021 Limited Edition ’62 Bone Tone Stratocaster Journeyman Relic
The '62 Bone Tone Stratocaster Journeyman Relic model was produced as a limited edition in Dirty Shell Pink in 2011.
It is based on the 1962 Stratocaster, but features a slabbed maple fingerboard and gold hardware that were not part of the original specs.
The body is finished in a Journeyman Relic finish with lots of weather checks and dents, and the back of the neck is finished in a Heavy Relic finish with stripped paint.
The neck shape is "60 Style Oval C", the fretboard is a compound radius 7.25R - 9.5R with narrow tall frets.
Three hand-wound "Master Design Bone Tone" pickups signed "M.E." are installed, and "Strat 1/2 Blender" wiring allows the neck pickup to be blended when the bridge pickup or bridge + center pickup is selected.
The pickguard has been replaced. The pickguard is now a Monteux "Retro Vibe Series 62 SC Pickguard Relic" and the original pickguard is missing.
The first string side of the pickguard cover has been chamfered.
The strap pin has been replaced and there is a circular dent caused by overtightening the end pin.
The frets are slightly dented on the treble string side of the 1st and 5th frets, leaving about 80% remaining, and there are no problems with the neck and truss rod operation.
