Fender Custom Shop 2017 1972 Stratocaster NOS

The "1972 Stratocaster NOS" model is a reissue of the 1972 spec.

The NOS finish is a reproduction of the original NOS finish, with only a urethane coating and a lacquer finish.

It has a three point neck joint, large head, PAT numbered head logo without "WITH SYNCHRONIZED TREMOLO" and a bullet truss rod, all characteristic 70s specs.

The neck is made of well proportioned quartersawn maple with a slightly thicker 69 "U" shaped neck grip, jumbo 6100 type frets and a 9.5R fingertboard radius.

Originally there were three grey bobbin '69 ST' pickups, but only the middle pickup has been changed to a black ribbon (probably from Custom Shop).

The tone control is on the bridge.

Three knobs and strap pins have been replaced.

There is a 3-4mm sized dent under the bridge, several tiny dents with small paint cracks in the elbow area, several pockmarks and scratches on the body top and several pockmarks and scratches on the body back.

The frets are a little worn in the plain string section, but overall there is about 80-90% remaining, and the neck and truss rod are in good condition.
