1969 Fender Custom Sunburst

Sunburst, Custom model aka Maverick. This is the first year of issue. An infamous model that needs to be in any serious Fender guitar collection. It’s a great sounding hum cancelling guitar.

Made from leftover Electric 12 parts. As the Electric 12 was not selling this was a way to move necks and bodies as they had already tried a lot of custom colors. Yes, Fender Electric 12’s are the most common to be custom colors. So Fender did something kind of cool. They trimmed the body to a new shape, plugged the 12 string holes in back, added a laminate over the headstock so it can be a six string. The neck feels bigger but it is a1 5/8” nut width and 25.5” scale. The pickups sound cool with two strong out of phase settings and two normal fuller settings. It’s comfortable to play and for sure nobody else you know will have one.

All stock, it was played for years by the original owner who loved it. It has a ding and scratches on the front and back and some magic marker touch up but is pretty clean all in all.
