Description

Both re-covered in in brown tolex and if we do say so ourselves it looks rather fetching. Both were bought at Willie’s - separately - in 1997. Then re-covered and re-grilled (oxblood) and fully serviced. This has been in use as a bass amp and it sounds wonderful and the thump that a old closed-back solid pine cabinet provides is amazing. Extra fun because it’s bite-sized. These small early ‘60s Tremolux cabinets made of solid light pine (now aged 60 years) are resonant and fit in a subcompact car. This one has replaced speakers but are 1974 10” CTS units with a great tone. The cabinet is rated at 4 ohms. The previous owner wanted a fuller sound at lower volumes to get more wattage from his Bassman head. The cabinet was originally white. The ’66 Bassman head has original transformers and no extra holes or mods. It’s been well taken care of, serviced and regularly used (see internal photos.) This is a delightful bass rig with striking good looks. It also has casters (you’re welcome) as well as tilt-back legs and the knurled knobs to the head from falling off. For guitar its clean, warm, and rich-sounding with that perfect amount of “hair” in the form of natural tube distortion. Comes with deluxe Tuki covers. Sold as a set. Happy to ship, but shipping will take extra time and incur additional expense.
