2009 Fender '59 Strat Reissue #17 of 59 Factory Error!
This is a Limited Edition '59 Strat 50th Anniversary guitar. This was from a Factory Special Run of 59 guitars. There are two #17 Strats from this series as shown in picture #2. This is the first one and was the "factory error" guitar. You are getting the darker of the two finishes. So how are there 2 guitars that have the same serial number in the same run of guitars? The first #17 of 59 guitar (3-tone sunburst) was shipped out to the customer with the wrong shade of burst (that's this guitar). Fender asked to recall it to get the color corrected. The owner had already received it and loved it so much that they asked to keep it and buy the correct Chocolate Burst one too!
After the original owner kept these guitars together this whole time, we've decided to offer them as a pair but now available as separate pieces. The Chocolate Burst has already sold. The 3 Tone Sunburst is the one that is now available. The guitar is near mint with the paperwork as shown. It comes with the original hardshell case.
