1966 Ampeg B-15N Portaflex Bass Amp

This 1966 Ampeg B-15N flip top is in good cosmetic condition and is in perfect working order. There are nicks, dings and bruises throughout. The “Am” in the Ampeg logo is missing. Since it just says peg, here at the shop, we have been affectionately referring to this old beast as “Peg.” This amplifier has just been serviced and gone through at Hime Amplification in Nashville, Tennessee. It is working flawlessly and sounds absolutely righteous! This amp is all original with the exception of the speaker which has been swapped for a very desirable and killer sounding re-coned vintage JBL D140F. This amp delivers all the iconic vintage punchy tones that you would expect from such a legendary machine and the JBL speaker really cleans up any extra “fuzz” that come along with the old CTS speakers. This amp is fantastic for electric bass and also excels with an upright bass with an electric pickup. A true gem!
